You're invited! Sara is giving a free public lecture at her alma mater Western Michigan University as part of WMU’s Visiting Scholars and Artists Program October 24th.

During this one-hour lecture, Sara will give a presentation about her art, talk about her almost two-decade journey as an artist, share information about her art business, add a dose of creative motivation, and will end the lecture with Q+A. Parking is nearby at the Miller Auditorium ramp. There is no need to rsvp. Sara is incredibly honored and excited to present at her former alma mater and cannot wait to share with not only current WMU students, but also anyone who is interested in attending. She hopes to see you there!

About the Visiting Scholars and Artists Program: Established in 1960, the Visiting Scholars and Artists Program (VSAP) significantly contributes to the intellectual life of Western Michigan University. This program provides funds for academic units to bring distinguished scholars and artists to campus. These visitors meet with faculty and students in their fields and address the community at large. Since the program began, it has supported over 600 visits by scholars and artists representing more than 60 academic disciplines. Following are biographical sketches of the scholars and artists participating in the 2024-2025 Visiting Scholars and Artists Program.

How to get to the RCVA:

From Stadium Drive, travel northwest on Howard Street. Take the first right on Western Avenue, then take a left on Ring Road South. At the four way stop, take a right on Theatre Drive. Parking is available at the Miller Auditorium Ramp. At the end of the road, take the stairs leading to Miller Plaza and the destination will be on the left.

About the Richmond Center for Visual Arts (RCVA) at WMU: The Richmond Center for Visual Arts houses large art galleries, an outdoor sculpture garden, computer labs, and classrooms. It is located in the southern side of the Main Campus, and is connected through pedestrian bridges to the miller parking structure, Kohrman Hall, and the Dalton Center.

For Artists: Online Workshop~ How To Create + Sell YOUR Artist Calendar

For Artists: Learn how to create and sell YOUR Artist Calendar!

Date of Online Live Workshop: Thursday, August 29th at 10:00am EST (participants will have access to watch the replay of the call any time after this date).

Are you an artist who has been curious about HOW to create and sell calendars with your art on them? If yes, this workshop is for you! If you answered no- you should consider creating your own artist calendar.

Why? An artist calendar is a powerful tool that can get your art in front of potential collectors and be a visual DAILY reminder of you and your incredible talent. It can be a beautiful mini portfolio of your work, a gift for your collectors and make people feel so good when they get to enjoy your art 365 days a year.

Artist, educator and coach Sara Glupker is offering this workshop to teach everything she knows about creating artist calendars as she has successfully created and sold 10 editions of her art calendars over a 12-year span.

In this one-day live online workshop Sara will share how to photograph your art, strategies for art placement, sales techniques, how to launch a successful pre-sale campaign, printing options, how to organize orders, optimal practices for shipping and packaging, how to order the right amount, how to sell and promote your calendars, and more. Artists will be empowered to use whatever resources they have (no need to hire fancy designers or photographers) and can use simple technology such as a cell phone, the free Canva app and other free design software. The calendar project is a powerful project that has amazing potential to grow every year and bring in a new income stream for artists. Sara is so excited to share everything she knows and help other artists succeed in creating their own art calendars!

Price: $98 for this online workshop

Workshop participants will have continued access to the live recorded video after the workshop date: Thursday, August 29th at 10:00am EST. and will also be given a pdf download resource as a companion to this workshop.

In addition, class participants will:

Receive a special discount on printing through Sara’s preferred online printer (who is fantastic to work with and is highly recommended)

Have the chance to win prizes! (3 to be exact) which include: a feature interview on Sara’s podcast: I Like Art, a pack of Sara’s notecards and one of her 2025 Calendars, or a special “Artist Care Package”- filled with Sara’s favorite studio goodies mailed to you!

Receive a special discount on ordering Sara’s 2025 Calendars

Sign up early- before August 20th for this bonus!!! :

You will be invited to a second live call- “Sara’s Office Hours” - held on Tuesday, September 10th at 10:00am EST and Sara will be available to field any questions or concerns that you have. She will be there to hold workshop attendants accountable (did you get your calendar designed and ordered?), and celebrate those who have ordered their calendars. This office hours call will be high energy and fun! You don’t want to miss!
